Let's get started!

Interlibrary Loan: The Basics

With interlibrary loan, you have access to literally millions of print and digital resources from thousands of libraries around the United States and the world! Whatever Milligan doesn't have, we will do our best to help you find it and borrow it for little to no cost.

Now, let's find an item to request through interlibrary loan!

4 of 5To request this item, click on the button that says Request via Interlibrary Loan at the bottom of the screen under Availability.

A new tab will open with the citation information showing.  Scroll down to the colored form fields. Fill out the required fields following the directions. Use only your Milligan email address. If you have any special requests or concerns (a certain edition) fill in the Comments field.

PLEASE NOTE: for purposes of this tutorial, do NOT click on the Submit button to request Sorta like a Rockstar. This will create a false request.

However, if you are learning how to request an item and have located one that you would like to borrow, complete your request and click on the Submit button. A  green confirmation box will appear with a confirmation number.  To return to Guide on the Side close the tab.
